MM&R, Inc. Migrates from BBx to Momentis Systems’ Latest Release

MM&R, Inc. migrated from its Momentis BBx system (1995) to Momentis’ current web-based MFS (Momentis Fashion System™) solution for all their EDI, sourcing, warehouse and distribution needs. With their increased growth and expansion, MM&R, Inc. realized that their legacy system had some limitations and in order to meet its own and its client’s needs, decided to embark on upgrading their software system to take advantage of the latest Momentis offering developed on up-to-date Microsoft® technology using .NET Framework.

The BBx system had all the ‘standard’ features/functionality such as EDI, order entry, picking and invoicing. The new MFS system is much more sophisticated – Alert functionality is built in, giving management enhanced visibility into their supply chain with exception-based reporting/criteria. These alerts report errors early on in the process so management can react and make important decisions in a timely manner.

Other key functionality included within MFS that they now take advantage of are Critical Path Management (CPM) a task-tracking tool, advanced style costing, superior PDM/tech spec package capability, catalog generation and web interface portal to a third party vendor (UPS) among others.

All the information is accessible to everyone in one system (central database) – instead of using multiple Excel spreadsheets that were isolated. Overall, the system is completely automated (emails versus printing/faxing), smoother (fewer steps), quicker turnaround for sourcing processes, streamlined (less duplication of data entry), and user-friendly (Windows look and feel).

MM&R, Inc. is a leading NY fashion designer, manufacturer and wholesaler of women’s dresses and sportswear targeted to juniors, petites, misses and plus sizes.
