Trendy Urbanwear Company TXT Group Selects Momentis Systems to Support Recent Growth

Montreal-based TXT Group (comprised of 3 separate wholesale companies; TXT Carbon, Banger Distributions, and Supreme 75 Inc.), selected and is now live for all divisions with the Momentis Fashion System™ (MFS). The system TXT Group previously used had become antiquated and with TXT’s recent growth and expansion, it needed more depth than the character-based legacy system could offer. Stella Zappitelli, Controller of TXT Group conducted a software vendor search last spring looking to improve overall functionality and streamline efficiencies, and found the ideal match with long-time software provider Momentis Systems Inc.

TXT Group is an importer that targets the lifestyle and urban market of 17-25 year olds attracted to trendy styles and hip designs. Each company within TXT Group has multiple brands and distributes to both majors and boutiques across Canada. Remote sales agents are located across the country in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Quebec.

When looking for a new system, it was important that TXT Group have one integrated system that could be easily implemented and interfaced to other software such as Scancode for shipping and Great Plains for financials. TXT Group had previously maintained multiple Excel spreadsheets outside of its core system. Since implementing MFS, these Excel sheets are no longer required.

Some benefits realized are tighter controls with more visibility and access to information. For example, prior to implementing the MFS system, the credit manager had an important albeit tedious role working with boutiques using COD – now with more readily available tools, this task has been greatly facilitated. Another illustration exemplifying improvement is pick slips being generated immediately prior to shipping instead of weeks or even months in advance, giving greater control in the warehouse.

“It’s been great working with the Momentis team, the staff’s unequivocal knowledge of the apparel world along with their professionalism enables them to incorporate best practices apropos to the industry,” remarks Stella. "The MFS system is user-friendly and business processes are definitely more streamlined. We're very happy with our decision in choosing Momentis and the support we receive."

TXT Group use most modules included within MFS such as EDI, Sourcing, Traffic, Logistics, Inventory Management, Shipping, Invoicing, Receivables, Customer Service, and Order Entry. Additional modules purchased but not yet implemented are Product Data Management (PDM), Critical Path Management (CPM) and Sales Force Connect.
