MATT & NAT, an Ecommerce success story: Improving efficiency through the ERP, Shopify connectors and the Trenza web apps

November 4, 2020

MATT & NAT is an apparel, footwear and accessory brand that came to life in 1995, in Montreal. From the start, they were committed to not using leather or any other animal-based materials in their designs. Each season, they continue to explore new innovative ways to remain sustainable and eco-friendly.

MATT & NAT collections can now be found in over 800 boutiques across Canada, the United States, the UK, Japan, Germany, and Australia.

MATT & NAT currently operate 5 ecommerce stores: Canada, USA, Australia, United Kingdom, and a European ecommerce store. The Canadian, American, and Australian stores all share the same database (North America), while the UK and European stores share a second database.

With the Shopify connectors, the Trenza Fashion Web app, and through the ERP, they have the flexibility to manage each store independently or manage them as a group.  For example, if the Spring collection will only be available in 3 stores, MATT & Nat can achieve this by restricting the stores connected to that collection and ensure that the products only appear in the 3 stores.

How did Momentis help to streamline this operation? By enabling MATT & NAT to enter information for their catalog of products once, and not for each individual store, through the Trenza Fashion Web App. This means, that the catalog is created once and then they can decide which store receives which collection, rather than creating 5 individual catalogs, one for each store.

Prices and product information flow through the ERP and beyond based on the currency and country setup for the store. For example, if a style is both in the UK store and American store, the ERP will send each price respectively since they exist in the databases. The information flows automatically based on the criteria selected.

Another benefit of the Trenza Fashion Web App for MATT & NAT is that along with their product and catalog information, they can also manage their product tags, rather than updating this directly in Shopify. While updating product information in the Fashion Web App, the product tags can be added as well, and will be sent at the same time to update the pertinent Shopify store. This one simple step saves time and effort.
