Spring into Action – Brand Building in 2019

April 10, 2019

I love when winter turns to spring; the sun is still out when I leave work and patio living is right around the corner. I like to celebrate with an update to my wardrobe, which means a trip (online) to see what my favorite brands are up to.

Brands have more control over their messaging now than ever before. They use social media, corporate websites, email marketing and online stores to speak directly to their customers, and relationships are built to last.  So, when I know exactly which sites to visit to refresh my look, I have to credit their marketers.

Traditional wholesalers are capitalizing on their ability to complement sales to retailers by selling directly to their customers. Not only can they strengthen sentiments towards their brands and control every detail of how their styles are displayed, but they also get the added benefit of keeping the retail markup for themselves.

Even with the allure of the $545 billion (2019) and growing ecommerce fashion industry, moving from pure wholesaler to online retailer can seem like a daunting task.  Of greatest concern, after adopting a B2C marketing strategy, is how to process many small customer orders without overhauling the company’s infrastructure.

Momentis saw the challenge its clients faced and adapted to make the transition to B2C selling easier.  Drag and drop catalog building and a connector to Shopify means that style creation and image assignment is done only once, in one place. Live inventory levels are pushed to the web, while customer orders are pulled directly into the ERP system to be processed in the normal flow.

In automating processes, Momentis helps brands make the jump to selling online simple and painless.  There is no need to duplicate data entry in multiple platforms and the potential for human error is mitigated.  Brands can then focus on telling their story, deftly marketing their latest styles, and making sure I know where to shop so that I feel even better about it being spring.
